3 Morning Habits That Increase Body Positivity

On average, women have thirteen negative thoughts about their body in a single day. Everyday, our body image can be a little different. One day you can take on the world, and other days you never want to leave bed or put on a pair of pants (except for piney pants!). One Monday you might wake up and feel beautiful, but come Tuesday, nothing looks good on you and leaving the house seems impossible! The mirror is your worst enemy and it seems like you have almost nothing good to say about the way you look.

Well… that sucks. 

It’s inevitable that sometimes we won’t feel great about ourselves - we’re human. But it’s crucial to our sanity that we take proactive steps to enhancing our self-image and creating the most positive mindset to start our day.

Where does this begin? In the morning. Studies have proven that doing a few proactive things in the morning can actually increase body positivity, which will set you up to have a fantastic day to look forward to. 

3 Morning Habits That Increase Body Positivity:

Drop The Phone

Many of us use our phones in the morning to catch up on all we missed in the middle of the night. Sounds silly, and it is! The morning should be all about you. It’s one of the only times of the day where you can focus on yourself - not work, kids, friends, life, etc. By tapping into social media, you risk the chance of seeing something that negatively affects your day. So drop the phone and pick up the coffee - you won't regret it. 

Eat a Wholesome Breakfast

Love is a two way street. If you want to love your body, your body has to love you! Give it the fuel it needs to feel good and start the day. No, I don’t just mean egg whites and spinach - unless you find that delicious! Eating something delicious and nutritious is crucial to beginning your day with energy and positivity! Positive Self-Talk

Sometimes you can be your own worst enemy when it comes to feeling good about yourself and having a positive body image. You look in the mirror and negative, self-deprecating thoughts rush through your head like a swarm of killer bees or something. Bad analogy? You get the point! But wait a second... have we forgotten that women are strong and indestructible creatures? We can conquer anything - even our own self-doubt. Studies have proven that verbalizing positive thoughts actually tricks your brain into believing them. So even if you don’t mean it, say it! I am beautiful, I am sexy, I am unique, and I am gonna take on this day! Trust me, it works. 

We all know, being a woman in such a critical, perfectionist society is not easy. It can completely mess with our mental and emotional state and certainly our self-esteem. Sometimes, everyday feels like a struggle. That’s why it’s important to develop positive habits right before the negativity even has a chance to surface - in the morning!

So wake up, and feel beautiful. Because you are.
